In 2019, the members of Destroying the Gap, a group of childhood friends, gathered to discuss ideas about giving back to our respective communities. In June 2020, we solicited the IRS and Texas Secretary of State for approval to form our 501 (c) 3 organization.

Scholarship Amount
- The scholarship award(s) will be a one time, non-renewal award(s) of five hundred dollars ($500) each, paid to the Trade School/College/University after proof of enrollment.
Scholarship Eligibility
- African-American/Black or Hispanic/Latinx
- Graduating Central High School Senior Student (Travis County/Williamson)
Have a grade point average greater than a 2.5 on a 4 point scale. - Attended the SAME High School for the last 2 years
Scholarship Process
- Complete the online application.
- Submit two (2) letters of recommendation (Teacher, School Counselor, School Administrator, Community Member)
- Submit a picture (recent photo with just you in the picture)
- Submit an official transcript
- A brief personal essay telling us who you are, your college aspirations, and how you will use your college degree, certification, or training to impact your life and community. (Typed, 12-point font, double-spaced, two pages)
- Upload all of the required documents through the online application
- All student information will be kept confidential
- By submitting this application, you are agreeing to participate in DTG marketing and promotion.
